I grew up with Carla Martin, and her brother Justin through grade school, so it was very cool to photograph their family in Belmont, NC. Carla entered the 3rd Annual Photo Contest, and though she lost to Nikki Bright, I granted her a shoot. I did this because she entered with I believe two to three days left in the contest, and gathered over 150 “Likes” in that amount of time, just ten or so shy of winning. She entered the contest mainly for Justin’s son Colin, her nephew. Belmont was a perfect spot for the Martin’s with walking distance to plenty of ideal locations for pictures, and just enough to keep a toddler at bay. Trains. railroad tracks, a downtown area and open space helps. The weather drizzled a few times but nothing major, and we got beautiful images. It was also very cool to meet Carla’s step brother Matt who is featured. Thank you Martin family! And thank you Carla for everything!!

{mother’s day}

My wife, step-son Jason, Lily & I joined forces with Brandi, Jeremy, Jackson & baby Charlie for a Mother’s Day snippet! Brandi wanted a few shots with her boys as well did my wife with her kids not only for Mother’s Day coming up this Sunday, but also to frame a picture of the grand kids for Chantel’s mother, Brandi’s mother & also mine as a gift. We met beside the church where Lily attends daycare in a shallow field, and made 45 minutes to an hour worth of magic. I also brought the tripod to capture the entire cast, for Chantel’s mom as well. With such quickness of the shots & whining babies, we really got some quality images. I want to wish my mother a wonderful Mother’s Day, you have made me into who I am today, someone who respects others and is kind to everyone. You did a fantastic job raising my sister and I as a single mother. I Love you Momma…
